                 Geant4 11.0 - patch-02 Release Notes

List of fixes included in this public patch since the public release 11.0.1:

  o Configuration
    -------------
    + CMake:
      o Fix for CPack on Windows to avoid PATH with only '/', without '\'.
      o Don't add CLHEP_INCLUDE_DIRS directly through include_directories
        to prevent potential issues with it holding relative paths.

  o Digits_Hits:
    -----------
    + Added missing virtual keywords in G4VScoringMesh.

  o Externals:
    ---------
    + CLHEP:
      o Fixed compilation warnings on macOS in LorentzRotation header
        when c++20 is enabled.
      o Fixed compilation warnings for shadowing data member in RandPoisson.

  o Geometry:
    --------
    + management:
      o G4SolidStore, G4LogicalVolumeStore, G4PhysicalVolumeStore:
        extend getter methods to optionally return the last-found object.
    + navigation:
      o G4RegularNavigation: reset the zero step counter when a non-zero step
        is performed, to avoid aborted events. Removed tabs in source code.
        Based on GitHub PR#38 (https://github.com/Geant4/geant4/pull/38).
      o G4VIntersectionLocator: fixed compilation warning for unused data.
    + solids/Boolean:
      o G4UnionSolid: add surface tolerance in Inside(p) for check on Z.
        Minor optimisation in constructors and in caching half-tolerance.

  o Global:
    ------
    + Replaced use of deprecated std::result_of with std::invoke_result_t,
      fixes compilation warnings on Apple clang version 13.1.6.
    + In G4PhysicsModelCatalog, fixed two typos in Bremsstrahlung models name.
    + Fixed compilation warnings for shadowing variables in G4String.
    + Updated date and version for 11.0.2.

  o Materials:
    ---------
    + G4DensityEffectData, G4IonisParamMat: fixed density effect correction
      for liquid hydrogen. Addressing problem report #2346. Some code clean-up.
    + G4Material: reorganised AddElement(..) and AddMaterial(..) methods;
      using temporary vector to allow addition of the same elements during
      initialisation, once addition is completed the vector of elements and
      arrays of fractions are created, filled and temporary vectors are deleted,
      as a result the code become more transparent.
      Addressing problem report #2486.
    + G4NistMaterialBuilder: fixed mean ionisation potentilal of carbon to the
      current NIST value from 81 eV to 78 eV. Addressing problem report #2474.

  o Particles:
    ---------
    + Fixed compilation warnings on Intel compiler for unused variables.

  o Persistency:
    -----------
    + GDML:
      o In G4GDMLReadMaterials, fixed default temperature to 20°C
        (NTP_Temperature).
      o Addressing to the case of solid/volume name duplication when reading
        more than one GDML files.
      o G4GDMLReadSolids: removed a forgotten (used for debugging) cout in
        PropertyRead() function.

  o Physics Lists:
    -------------
    + constructors/electromagnetic
      o G4EmStandardPhysics_option4: use G4UrbanFluctuation model for e+-.
        Addressing problem report #2466.

  o Processes - Electromagnetic:
    ---------------------------
    + dna
      o G4ITTransportation: fixed misuse of bitwise '|' operator instead of
        logical.
    + utils
      o G4VMultipleScattering: fixed problem responsible for energy deposition
        shift in custom CMS Physics List. Addressing problem report #2480.
      o G4VEnergyLossProcess: fixed fluctuation model pointer for the case an
        extra model is added on top of the default list of models.
      o Fixed typo in Bremsstrahlung model names.

      o G4VRangeToEnergyConverter: fixed clearing of static data in destructor.
    + optical
      o G4OpBoundaryProcess: check for nullptr before dereferencing.
        Addressing problem report #2471.
      o G4OpWLS2: fix incorrect call to set time profile.
        Addressing problem report #2482.
    + transportation
      o G4Transportation, G4CoupledTransportation: fixed misuse of bitwise '|'
        operator instead of logical.

  o Processes - Hadronic:

    + cross_sections
      o G4HadronNucleonXsc: fixed compilation warning on unused variable.
    + models/abla
      o G4Abla: fixed compilation warnings for potentially uninitialised
        variables.
    + models/cascade
      o Fixed compilation warnings on Intel compilers for unused variables.
      o Use const iterator in G4InuclEvaporation::BreakItUp(..).
    + models/coherent_elastic
      o G4ElasticHadrNucleusHE, G4NeutronElectronElModel and
        G4NeutrinoElectronNcModel: fixed compilation warnings on unused
        variables; removed commented lines; use Energy() method of
        G4PhysicsVector instead of obsolete GetLowEdgeEnergy().
    + models/inclxx
      o Fixed misuse of bitwise '|' operator instead of logical in
        INCL::postCascade() and in INCL::makeCompoundNucleus().
      o Fixed compilation warnings for shadowing of variables, not used
        or potentially uninitialised variables.
    + models/lepto_nuclear
      o G4NeutrinoNucleusModel: fixed memory leak reported by Coverity.
      o Fixed compilation warning on Intel compilers for unused variables.
      o G4MuonVDNuclearModel: fixed compilation warnings for potentially
        uninitialised variables.
    + models/particle_hp
      o Fixed issue for photons too high in energy generated from
        G4NDL/Capture/FSMF6 data. Addressing problem report #2468.
      o Code cleanup in G4ParticleHPContEnergyAngular and 
        G4ParticleHPContAngularPar.
      o Fixed compilation warnings on Intel compilers for deprecated use of
        operator=() in G4ParticleHPDataPoint.
      o Fixed compilation warnings for potentially uninitialised variables.
    + models/parton_string
      o G4QGSParticipants: do not print warning in the case of precision loss;
        a confusing exception message was observed in CMS simulation, observed
        in high energy gamma-nuclear interaction.
      o Fixed compilation warning on Intel compilers for unused variables.
    + models/radioactive_decay
      o G4RadioactiveDecay: fixed memory leak (due to decay products that were
        not deleted) in the case of a radioactive decay happening later than the
        time threshold.
    + processes
      o Fixed compilation warning on Intel compilers for unused variables.
    + util
      o Fixed compilation warning on Intel compilers for unused variables
        and deprecated declaration of operator=().

  o Run
    ---
    + In G4RunManagerKernel, check for correct state in default exception
      handler before trying to access manager classes that may be nullptr
      in other states. Don't create a default exception manager if one exists
      already.

      o Fixed compilation warnings for unused arguments.

      o Fixed compilation warning for unused variables.

      o Fixed compilation due to G4String changes in release 11.0.
        Part of the GitHub PR #45 (https://github.com/Geant4/geant4/pull/45).
    + extended/geometry/vecGeomNavigation
      o Enable use with static libraries; build g4vecgeomnav as a static
        library if only Geant4 static libraries are available.
      o Removed unused setting of threads causing compilation warning.
    + extended/electromagnetic/TestEm6
      o Fixed compilation warning in RunAction.
